I am attempting to get my blog moved back to my domain, so will no longer be posting here at Vox. However, I do plan on leaving the Vox blog up, as I have w/the old Yahoo 360 blog, in case anyone (really just me I'm sure LOL!), ever feels like reading old stuff. So, check out www.cheshirecat123.com, and I will hopefully have the new blog up and running in the next few days. As I always say, my goal is to get better about posting. With all the other crap I do online, it just seems like the blog goes by the wayside!
Just feeling a bit overwhelmed, sleepy and out of time. I have been working full time for 3 weeks now, as a one-on-one para. I'm enjoying it, but stressing out over not getting housework done. I hate my house not being as organized, and just not having time to get simpe things done, like going to the store. I'm so behind on all of my TIVO stuff. It took me 3 days to get through the Desperate Housewives season finale, and I was so shocked at the end!!
Mother's Day was nice. Mom and sis were here, and Jason cooked for us all weekend. We did lots of shopping : ). Sis and I went to Duran Duran in Denver on the 12th, and it was AMAZING! We had seats in row 9 on the floor, but towards the end we were able to move up the stage! I was literally about 6 in. from touching John and Roger, but just couldn't get around the lady in front of me. The boys put on a fabulous show, and I got a ton of pics and video! Sis got us tickets to Crue Fest in Denver at the end of July. I believe we have seats in row 3 behind the pit! Should be a great show. I'm not super thrilled about the 3 supporting bands, but I love the Crue and Sixx A.M.
The boys are both in the full swing of baseball. Our weather hasn't been very cooperative, so we've had mostly chilly or windy games so far. Breck's decided he wants to play soccer in the fall! He's really gotten into it w/his friends at school.
We leave in less than a month for Disney! I am sooooo exicted! I just cannot wait for school to be over, and to get the heck out of town for a week. Shortly after we get back from there we are heading camping w/the family in Buffalo. The boys will head up to Buffalo in mid-July for their month long visit. Jason and I are kicking around the idea of going to Sturgis this year.
The pic is from Mother's Day, and no, sis and I did not intentionally dress the same! If I ever get time, I will upload some Duran pics.
It feels like it has been winter forever. I am sick and tired of being cold, getting blown away by wind every time we step out the door, and seeing snow. I'm anxious to ride the bike more, but it's hard w/this weather, and I don't have cold weather gear--just my winter coat. I did make it out for a few minutes last week, just to get gas and run by the grocery store. It was a bit chilly, but I bundled up. I used Jason's tridana, which worked really well, and think I need one for myself! I also got to try out my new riding glasses Jason bought me, and they ROCK! Not one bit of wind got through. I am looking forward to riding in the hot summer sun!!!
We had a really lazy weekend. Jason worked in Laramie Saturday, and was home by 1. I was in my pjs until then! We went out later and found 5 geocaches, then had a yummy dinner at Chili's. Sometimes Chili's isn't all that great, but I'd been seeing the commercial for those mini burgers and wanted to try them. We got some, and they were good, but it was really just one burger cut into 4 pieces! Jason and I got a lot of Toontown in this weekend. I am so addicted to that darn game! Yesterday we just sat around until 5, them went out to Lowe's, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and the grocery store. We stayed up until 12, watching TIVO and playing Toontown. It was hard to get up this morning. I felt so snuggled in!
I am currently waiting on the washer repair guy. When he was here last week, he said there was a problem w/the gear box, because the washer was going into a spin before the pump out (?), so the water was being sloshed over the side when it was on the highest capacity. The guy ordered a new part, which came on Friday, and I had to call back to get another appt. for it to be put in. The time frame is 8-12, and of course, he can't come on the earlier side. Last week it was 12 when he got here! I hate sitting around waiting. I have been able to use the washer, but was just supposed to use a medium water level.
Peyton's new baseball coach called last night. He is now on the Cubs! Jason is thrilled, as is Peyton. We had requested him to be moved off the Dodgers, because we wanted him to be on the team linked to his school. I don't think the Cubs are from his school though. Our biggest issue w/the Dodgers was having to drive way the heck out south for practices. It's a 20 mi. round trip drive, and that's just too far to go twice a week. There is a meeting tomorrow night to figure out what the best times are everyone to practice, and we are just crossing our fingers practice is somewhere close! Still haven't heard from Brecken's coach. He's rookie league, and at that age, their teams aren't named after actual teams. We are definitely going to feel like we are living at the fields! I guess we should be thankful that baseball is the only thing they are into at the moment!
This week the boys have their reading medal ceremony at the highschool theater. They get to go on stage and get medals for completing the reading program, and they have treats afterwards. As far as I know we have nothing else going on this week. I'm not sure if Jason has to work this weekend. They are planning all these trips to get new servers in around the state.
Another month has gone by! I have tried to post twice--some fairly long entries, but every time I do this in MSN Explorer and try to upload a picture, it makes MSN crash. ARGH! So, we'll see how it works when I use IE.
Easter was good. The boys were up early, found their baskets and eggs. We played outside, took a walk, and had a YUMMY dinner! Jason made salmon for himself and the boys, and I had sea bass. It was one of the best pieces of fish ever! Jason also made these garlic spicy shrimp that were amazing, and he baked an apple pie for dessert. He's becoming quite the cook : ).
I took the boys to Casper last Monday, to meet mom and sis. They are enjoying spring break in Buffalo. Mom has the Dancing With the Stars game for the PS2, and I guess Brecken is a little dancing machine on it! I saw a short video dad took, and it was too cute! Jason and I will head to Casper tomorrow morning to pick them up, then it's back to the school grind Monday.
We had to get a new washing machine at the beginning of the month, and it's now leaking some water from underneath! I called Whirlpool, and someone is coming out Monday morning to check it out. Thank goodness it's still under warranty. I just hope this person can actually find something, because after I noticed it leaking the first time, I did 2 or 3 more loads and it didn't leak. A week later, it leaked again.
I have not done much at all during this last week, besides play a lot of Toontown and watch tv. I am totally addicted to Toontown now, and I never thought I would get into it. I have a toon on Breck's account, so can only play if he's not. Jason just bought both boys accounts on Club Penguin, so they've been really into that lately! I have gotten Peyton to help me on Toontown a couple times. I'm still reading a lot, although I slacked off this last week. I'm on book 7 of the Southern Vampire series--All Together Dead. The new one comes out in May, and I put a hold on it at the library. I am going to read another series by Charlaine Harris, that starts w/Grave Surprise, I think. I'm also reading some Buffy books. Jason and I watched "30 Days of Night", which I bought w/out seeing it first. It was pretty good, but a little disappointing at the end. It's strange how every movie seems to do a different take on the vampire thing. It really bothered me that these vamps could walk into homes without being invited. They did make some cool noises though! LOL :)
I worked 3 days at the school last month, and have at least one coming up this month. I'll be in the office, which is where I've been the most. We have a few things going on in April, like me hosting bunco, the boys' reading program ceremony (they get medals), "Donuts for Dads" at school, and the end of bowling (FINALLY!). I get to bowl the last week, since Dana will be gone, and I'm going to the fun night when they do payouts. I imagine we'll be getting calls soon for baseball. Both boys are signed up, and we had Peyton switch teams, so waiting to hear who the coaches are. It's going to be so crazy w/them both playing!
My biggest, most exciting news of the moment is that I got tickets to Duran Duran in Denver on May 12!! Sis is going w/me. Since I'm in the fanclub, I was able to get them on presale. I was working that day, so sis got them. We will be somewhere in rows 6-13, right down front! I would have loved to have done VIP, which is rows 1-5, and some other perks, but just couldn't do it for $375 a ticket!
I guess that about catches things up for the time being. I'm going to catch up on some reading while I wait for Jason to get home. He moved offices at work, and went to finish that this morning. We are heading to the bowling alley at 12:30 for a tourney he's doing, then have to go to Dana's for a murder mystery party tonight (which I REALLY don't want to do!!).
Valentine's Day was nice. Jason got me this cute tiger in a motorcycle jacket, and a box of all dark chocolates! YUM! We went to lunch at this little cafe downtown, and had a tasty dinner of fish (salmon for him, orange roughy for the boys and I). We were so full from dinner that we did not get to the jello poke cake I made until the next day!
I am glad it's the weekend. Not that I had that tough of a week, but I always look forward to the weekends. I feel just blah and out of shape at the moment. I think it's the fact that winter has seemed to drag on, and I have not been very active, as far as exercise. I need to do something w/myself. I walked to get the kids from school, and we just got back from a 40 min. walk. I wish our darn dog would learn to quit being such a freak on walks. We have had him on a leash since we first got him (almost 2 years ago, and he was 8 weeks old!), and he still does this incessant whiney spaz act, and pulls sideways. My hand aches by the time we get home, from holding the leash tight.
I have been a reading machine lately. This morning I finished the 3rd book in the Southern Vampire Series, by Charlaine Harris, and started the 4th! I'm 60 pages into it. Also picked up Dexter in the Dark, by Jeff Lindsay, and would like to get it read in at least a couple days. My goal is to read more books this year than I have in any of the past 10 years.
We are now on season 4 of Buffy, and simultaneously watching season 1 of Angel (they do crossover episodes occasionally). Since we have literally been watching every night, we aren't getting much of anything else watched. I am anxious for all the shows to resume the rest of their season. One thing I am wondering about, is if the prices of this season's DVDs are going to be the same, since they won't technically be a complete season. I think I'm going to buy 30 Days of Night when it comes out Tuesday. I have not seen it, but wanted to. Being the vampire fanatic that I am, I will happily buy it sight unseen, and am pretty sure I won't be disappointed!
Jason went off to Denver this morning for a birthday thing for Rodney at ESPN Zone. They are supposed to be back in time for bowling. I am hoping he's home at a decent hour, so I can see him before bed. Tomorrow he is going to Jackson for work, and attempting to do it one day. That's a loooong trip for one day, but I guess it's better than having him gone a night. Sunday is supposed to be nice, so I would like to get us all outside doing something.
I booked our Disney trip a couple weeks ago! We are so excited! We'll be staying at the Excalibur in Vegas one night on the way out, and on the way back. I just cannot wait for my boys to experience the magic of Disneyland! It's truly one of my favorite places on Earth! This will be my 6th time there. I went for the first time when I was 3, and that is one of my earliest memories. I remember cowering on the bottom of the boat in Pirates of the Carribbean, as the canons were going off! LOL :) We're doing 4 days at the park, hopefully swinging down to Hollywood (if I can convince Jason), and meeting up w/my family that lives out there. I can't wait to stock up on Alice stuff! I feel like I need to buy everything I see.
It's movie night for the boys and I (most Fridays are, since it's bowling night for Jason). I think we're going to watch X-Men 3, which has been waiting on the TIVO for a couple months.
I typed up this whole big update, and MSN crashed. Sooooo, I will see what I can put in a nutshell. Things have been pretty busy here. I've subbed 7 times in the last month at the school, for the librarian, a resource para, and an office lady! It's been a lot of fun, and of course, the $ will be nice. My regular routine has been all thrown off though! I feel like I got way behind on housework. I got sick last Monday, and am still fighting it off. I'm at the point now where I have a cough that chokes and gags me, and just pisses me off in general! I ended up winning both the playoff brackets and our fantasy playoffs we did! It was a nice little chunk of $!
My birthday was good. Jason came home early and baked me a German chocolate cake from scratch. It was fabulous! We had dinner at Olive Garden.
We've been to a few movies at the theater. Jason and I saw Cloverfield, which was good, but confusing as heck. I ended up getting a bit of a headache. I took the boys to Alvin and The Chipmunks and The Golden Compass. Both were good. We also National Treasure 2 over Xmas break, and all loved it. With some birthday $, I bought the rest of the seasons needed to complete our Buffy and Angel collections. We started watching Buffy from season 1, with the boys, and they are way into it!! We are into season 3 now.
I guess that's about all for now. I had a lot more, but don't really feel like trying to remember it all!
Happy 6th birthday to my little man! Can't believe how fast my baby is growing up! He woke up at 5:50 this morning asking me how many minutes until night was over! I told him an hour, and go back to sleep. A few minutes he was calling for dad, so Jason got him and he cuddled up w/me for the next hour. Breck's having a Bengal birthday! Auntie P made him a Bengal jersey cake w/his name and "6" on it : ). Ammie and Pa got here yesterday. We are having lunch at school w/Breck, then doing football helmet cookies w/his class (Ammie made them!). After that it's back to the lunchroom to hang w/Peyton for lunch. Breck's requested tacos for dinner. Tomorrow he is having a birthday w/5 of his best buddies, here at the house. I am just setting up game centers for them. He's soooo excited to have his friends here, and keeps telling Pa, "You get to meet my friends!!" BIG SMOOCHES to my little man! Momma loves you!
I just really haven't had much time or thought towards my blog in the last 2 mos., but I promise I will do a update before the week is over. I realize I need a new profile pic too! December was such a busy month, and we're just getting back into the groove of school this week. The boys have NOT wanted to get up in the morning. I told them they should have taken advantage of sleeping in on Xmas break, but nooooo, they had to be up early playing video games every day! Having lunch w/Jae and Dana tomorrow, then hoping to just veg at home. I was gone all day today running all over, doing birthday shopping for Brecken, lunch w/Jason, dinner shopping, dentist appointments. It's always something!

LOL :) Thanks! Believe it or not, I don't use any product in my hair. I gave up on hairspray,... read more
